[en] While the first evening offered a retrospective of some of the company's most celebrated pieces, this second part of the Anniversary Jubilee Tour is dedicated to the outstanding talent of Jirí Kylián, Lightfoot/León and Johan Inger. Revealing three brandnew pieces by the house choreographers, this is without a doubt an unmissable event in the dance calendar.

After an inspired and tremendous service of thirty-six years, Jirí Kylián will stop working as resident choreographer for Nederlands Dans Theater after the 2009/2010 anniversary season. It goes without saying that his final work for the company he has worked with for so long is a very special occasion and eagerly anticipated. In residence at Nederlands Dans Theater since 2002, Lightfoot/León are firmly established among the world's best of a new generation of innovative choreographers, following in the footsteps of Jirí Kylián, Hans van Manen, William Forsythe and Mats Ek. Having produced over thirty pieces and won prestigious international dance awards, this duo has become renowned for the excellent combination of dance, music, costumes, lighting and set design. Here they premiere their new piece, which was especially created for the anniversary season. Johan Inger's latest creation will be the first in his new position as Associate Choreographer at the Nederlands Dans Theater. He first started there in 1990, when he began a twelve year career as a dancer with the company. He choreographed his first piece for them in 1995 and quickly became a renowned dance maker. Well known for his narrative and humorous ballets, Inger's work has become more abstract in recent years. This new creation will be special because Inger creates a piece for both Nederlands Dans Theater I and II.

[fr] Suite à la rétrospective consacrée aux grandes chorégraphies qui ont marqué son histoire au cours des cinquante dernières années, le Nederlands Dans Theater nous fait entrer de plain-pied dans sa 51e année et nous offre un florilège de créations inédites signées Jirí Kylián, Lightfoot/León et Johan Inger. Après 36 ans passés auprès de la compagnie, Kylián nous offre ici un dernier tour de maître avant de tirer sa révérence auprès du Nederlands Dans Theater à la fin du jubilé. Il va sans dire cette ultime chorégraphie pour la compagnie scellera la fin d'une ère. Mais la relève est assurée avec la jeune génération, dont l'exceptionnel duo Lightfoot/León porte haut les couleurs et signe la deuxième chorégraphie de la soirée. Johan Inger, ancien danseur du Nederlands Dans Theater, viendra clôturer cet événement avec sa toute première chorégraphie créée en tant que chorégraphe associé à la compagnie. Décidemment, cette tournée « jubilé » nous permettra d'assister à tout un pan de l'histoire de la danse et de vivre un moment rare de félicité.
